Concert of the State chamber orchestra of the Urals ” Klassika” from Chelyabinsk. Soloist – Vadim Pavlov – a famous Russian cellist, laureate of various international competitions, a principal cellist of the Orchestra of Teatro Massimo Bellini of Catania, professor of F.M.E.M. of Geneva and owner of the title Knight of the World Order of Music Sciences. Conductor of orchestra – Alexei Galea Cavallazzi, who is one of the leading Maltese musicians, graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory named by P.I. Tchaikovsky and was awarded the Union Federation medal by the Russian Parliament for my contribution to the cultural ties between Malta and Russia. Concert is organized by the Mediterranean Conference Center in collaboration with the European Foundation for Support of Culture on 29th September at 20:00 in Republic Hall, MCC, Valletta.
The evening’s vibrant musical programme ranges from the religious music of Bach, the lilting melodies of Mozart’s little night music and the profound beauty of Haydn’s D major cello concert to the typically Russian masterpieces by Mussorgsky and Shostakovich.
