The European Foundation for Support of Culture, in collaboration with the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra of Berlin, will present five concerts by violinist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky and the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra: 30th and 31st of December 2021 and 1st of January 2022. The event will take place at the Mendelssohn Hall in Leipzig, Germany.
The compositions which will be performed are the following: Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major op.35 and Suite from the ballet The Nutcracker op. 71a; Phantasms, composition by contemporary composer, Alexey Shor. Moreover, there will be two artworks by Johann Strauss II: Waltz "On the beautiful blue Danube" op. 314 and Overture to the operetta "Die Fledermaus" op. 362 and Radetzky March op.228 by his father, Johann Strauss I.
Nikita Boriso-Glebsky always receives invitations from many different festivals and projects around the world to play alongside leading orchestras and some of the greatest conductors. A year to remember is certainly 2007, when Nikita obtained five prizes at the XIII International Tchaikovsky Competition. After that, he was appointed soloist of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of eighteen. It followed a set of incredible concerts in many different countries and outstanding achievements which brought Nikita to be considered one of the highest talented violinists of his period.
The Leipzig Symphony Orchestra is a regular holder of masterclasses and works hard on the training of future orchestral musicians, singers and conductors, collaborating with the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig and the School for Music Franz Liszt in Weimar. This German ensemble has a fundamental role in the development of the cultural aspect of the Leipzig region, being involved in more than hundred of concerts per year around Germany. Moreover, the orchestra has participated in international and intercontinental projects in countries like Poland, Netherlands, Mexico, South Korea, Switzerland and many others.
